    Ironhead pegs?? Female

Hey guys...finally found a set of mid controls for my 76 iron head and am starting to realize all the aftermarket pegs out there are "male" style ends whereas mine take a female style peg. Does everyone end up keeping the female style pegs or is there some conversion that everyone does to make them accept male style pegs?

I have run into this and hit up all the guys around here who have been chopping for awhile and got a set (or two) that had been take offs. Cheeper too. Anything up to around 78 should work.

Look up one of the Fabricator doods on here, they'll hook you up with something custom.

These might interest you as well...

I've seen them and they're top quality. And would be VERY easy to mount up instead of your stock mounting pegs.

They're on the right side of the screen, called "Joe's Mid Mounts" or something like that.

i want to keep th stock mid mount brackets (especially since I just had them powdered black).... I'm basically looking for something pretty basic like the "flat grooves" on this page::

            except with a female mount

This thread has the style pegs I used pieces of to make custom pegs. If I remember, I'll take and post a pic of the final product.
Anyone know of a good source for decent looking female mount Ironhead foot pegs? Or maybe a adapter for male mount pegs? They all look like :asshat:! I think I'll eventually end up making my own. If someone came out with a classy looking set (hint, hint) they could pull in some loot! Some well made, good looking Ironhead

I just wrote up this how-to. It won't apply to all years, but hopefully give you some ideas to get rolling. Good luck.
You are sad because they don't make any cool footpegs for your ironhead. After merely an hour invested in your garage, you will have turned that innee into an outee. The foot-peg aftermarket world is now your oyster. The bike in question is my 79 Sportster (has an 80 sprocket cover). It was hard for me to bring myself to

I've got them in the works. See my progress here. I've got quite a few guys waiting on these, so I'm moving along as fast as I can.

Is it like a new mount, but with male pegs?
