    Default Help finding hardware

I know you're all a resourceful bunch, so maybe you can help me out. I'm looking for some bolts for axle adjusters on my XS650 project. I need a 3/8-24x3" bolt that is full thread (threads all the way up to the head). I would prefer a bolt that is stainless, but at this point I'm getting pretty desperate, so any finish will do. Also, head style of hex or socket cap would be preferred. Any thoughts on where I can find two of these? Thanks, guys!

Have you checked a hardware store? I know our local Lowes has a decent selection, but if I really need something I hit up our ACE hardware, they have a awesome selection and I have always been able to get exactly what I want there.

For axle adjusters, you might need to use stainless all thread and TIG a stainless nut to the end. Thats how I do them. Long threaded bolts without a shoulder aren't very common, at least not in my searches of local hardware stores...

If you can't find anything, let me know and I'll make a set up for ya

I've found them at ace hardware. Sears has a good selection too.

Whenever I need a hard to find bolt, I always use Fastenal http://www.fastenal.com/web/home.ex.

Gardener Wescott also has a bunch of really nice hardware, but you'll get more bang for your buck with McMaster Carr.

These guys usually have what I am looking for. http://www.tacomascrew.com/

Mcmaster Carr is a great source too. We use them at work all the time, and they ship super fast. We can actually get stuff from them faster than a place a few miles away.
