Default Late 60's early 70's tank chop

So it took me some time to decide to cut my AMF tank for my DB Dropseat build. This is a side by side of the AMF and an 08 EFI sporty tank.

I had a donor 08 Sporty tank that was dinged up but had a fuel pump in it. I cut out the fuel pump mount and the gas filler with vent line.

I cut my the AMF tank in half.

I wanted it to hold more fuel. So I added about 3 inches to the center of the tank. It is not close to being done. This was all done with my knee and what I had laying around the garage. I will work on it some more tomorrow. Just a little update to my build.

I am gettting the basic shape of the middle piece of sheet metal. Going to chop it off and then tack weld both sides together at the same time. Let me know what you guys think.

That's awesome. I don't think I could bring myself to cut one of those tanks apart. Build is looking good so far.

FWIW, you should keep it all in one thread.
