ID:	109831 I've been wanting to convert my blast cabinet to vapor for awhile because I do carbs as a little side hustle and thought I'd post up a side by side. The carb body on the left was done dry with 80 grit beads and give a really dull matte finish and the one on the left was done with 100 grit or #10 beads done by vapor. The vapor gives a nice light polish, is done at a little lower pressure and I dont have to have the shop vac hooked to the cabinet. A win win I think!

    Dang man - looks GREAT!

I've got to do some googling on vapor blasting - is it as fast as regularly bead blasting?

Dry ice blasting is very effective as well, and also doesn't leave a mess.

I've heard of the dry ice thing but have never seen it done, I'll have to check it out on YouTube

The dry ice blasting is slick cause you can clean things without damage but man the machines are expensive! Wouldn't mind having my transmission cleaned with the dry ice before putting it in my old mustang!

After messing this for a minute I have noticed that really rusty steel or old heavily oxidized aluminum comes out better if its hit with 80 grit beads to smooth things out and then gone over with the finer media in the vapor blast which then gives it a light polish and makes it look new again. I'm thinking about setting up both and taking on some jobs.
