Springer I.D help

Hey yall, Just picked up a vw trike. It's got a springer front end. It measure's 29" From axle to bearing, 4 1/4" between the legs for the tire. I'm guessing it's considered a narrow glide? I've never worked on a Springer but I'd like to rebuild it. I noticed the top springs are cranked all the way down is this normal? The front tire is a 3x18 with a hub wheel, I'm assuming jap bike wheel. The neck on the trike is 45 degree. Any info, tips, tricks, or opinion on getting her road worty again would be appreciated. Looks garage built to me. Can't recall any of the builders using that thin flat iron for the trees.
