Default Hell of a way to start a retirement

So last week was my first full week of retirement. Pretty good week, got some miles on the Panhead ( thanks Jesse ), cleaned the garage a bit, even started getting materials together to remodel the downstairs bathroom.

Then Sunday night dinner didn't agree with me or something, spent the night puking and my damn body ached like hell. Next morning chest hurt like a son of a bitch. Well I bet you can guess the rest, called the Doc, went to the ER and sure enough I was having a damn heart attack. They took me right into the O.R. pumped a ballon in the artery and put in a stent.

I am sitting here in a freaking hospital bed but at least I feel pretty good. The one artery was 100% clogged and I have another that is about 90%. I get to go home tomorrow and then I go back in 3 weeks to have the second one opened up. Only downside is I am not supposed to use the arm where they snaked the tool in. Should have that back in use in 2 weeks.

I'm telling you this retirement thing is turning into a big pain in the ass, lol.

I've been and done exactly the same thing almost 10 years ago...... You should be just fine, just take it easy and listen to your doctors.....

You will have plenty of time for that....... But it will be months before you should really try and do that....... Hell it was 6 months before I even felt like trying to ride a kick bike.....

My surgeon wasn't real happy about my kickstarting 7 months after but mine involved chest cracking. Stents are way better. My neighbors 92 yrs old dad just had an aortic valve replaced they used a stent with a valve built in, cause they were afraid to crack his chest.
    Doombuggy,
If'n they want you in rehab, go! Then believe your cardiologist about food n exercise.

This one went a little rougher than the last one. The procedure itself was a piec of cake, but my wrist looks like a damn sausage. Doc says it happens sometimes when they go back into the same artery for the second stent. But I feel overall pretty good ( that could be the pain killer drip, lol )

I am limited to five pound lift on the right arm and he and I will talk about bikes next week, pedal and the Harley variety. Strange side effect, my breathing is easier. I can live with that, lol.

Glad your on the mend Harry. I would maybe cut back 5% on the sausage gravy...that shit is gooood but maybe a hair less would prevent a re-do. Looking forward to your continued contributions as always.
