Since da fenders will be off and there is nothing like a duallie for towing this could be an opportune time for a DRW conversion. I particularly like duals for towing because eight sidewalls is considerably stiffer than four. If ya don't want to buy tires right away the pickup truck world abounds in spacers. They'd certainly hook up that tasty drivetrain.
A narrow aluminum liftgate would be gloriously handy for moving stuff (I have a full width steel Tommy Gate on my F150 and if a narrow style shows up I'll grab one for muh Chevy). Before I had a liftgate I didn't think about them much but after mounting one found out they're jaw-droppingly handy and simple as a rock. They mount with four bolts so ya could do custom mounts in yer sleep. You can extend them (many use folding extensions to not block the rear view) making motorcycle retrieval very, very low effort. (Stock width fits stock Sporty-sized bikes. and the design lends itself to narrowing wide, common gates to custom width. Worth doing on at least a work truck but they're addictive and none of us is getting younger.
