    hey Drag.......
I have some killer looking A/C vents that I would like to show you.
I have to head out the door at the moment, but I will post photos
    later today or tomorrow.
I have 2 styles, (round or square). They are nice and compact, made of billet aluminum,
and adjustable for the air flow angle. made in USA of course.

By using pieces of another IH dashboard (Same vintage as mine) I may be able to do a 4" drop in the middle, that will net enough room for the A/C vent and the A/C controls ...

Freaken dash is like a boat's dash ... Not flat, it curves around ...
I may have found another IH dashboard to slice & dice on .. More thought will be in the doing once the vent gets to me ..

All this work to net A/C ... !!
I could had taken the easy way ...

    Now that's ^^ a bygone era ..

(Down here in the land of huge lizards that have very sharp teeth would most likely need two of them. One for each window)

    Damn pot holes !!

Swamp coolers mostly work in dry areas but they do look slick.

Now for fabricating the dash mount ...
... (More time in the think tank !!) ...

Already thinking of backing up on the A/C dash control ...

What I have maynot look as well as this one ^^ would .. ??

Since I will be making a pod, so to speak, to mount the louver into, could mount the in-dash switches down below the louver ..

Net a cleaner look than the bolt on under dash unit ...

    this is the Round one.

I also have some square ones, but I need to find them, my shop is turned
upside down at the moment. the square ones may not work for your vehicle, they are
designed for a 1940 ford dash, and are angled to fit the contour of the 40 dash where the
ash trays are, in fact the vents replace the ash trays. these round ones are universal fit.

Good looking vents .. Got a Hi-Tech look to em ...

Thinking I've nailed down all the needed vents for my project .. Center vent is a bit more work to make it look like it belongs than I wanted to do ..
Going to be working the dash anyways for laying on the woodgrain paint job, a wee bit more time spent on it should have the center vent and A/C switches looking like a custom install ...

I've already got a handle on another Oem dash to graft onto my dash ... What I got pictured in my head will look killer !!

My mentor since the 60's ...

By all means dig it out ..
Need to know "IF" it has room for the 7.5" long louver ??

What I'm thinking of doing is to extend my dash using the donor just enough to mount the A/C switches .. Then bolt-on the louver to the bottom of the newly stretched dash in that box ... ??
The bottom of the dash has a bit of a kick out, that would tilt the louver up a little ..

Think it would look a wee bit wacky if I stretched it out for both the switches and louver ... ??

Soon to do a trail fit ...

Not sure what I'm going to do for marrying the fenders to the running boards ...

Got to trim on the fenders, don't want to do any mods to the boards ... I recall whooping on them 25 years ago and was very time consuming to get em in shape ...

These new to me fenders, which are from a larger R-Series truck, are much longer due to their running boards being taller ..

More "Slice & Dice" yet to come ...

"Ledge be Gone", it had to go, wanted to keep it but seen no way to make it work with the R-100 running boards ...
