Old utility bed work trucks are scarce, and are certainly a rare treat to see out on the road ..

Nice score. I had a C50 like that but the cab was shot so I saved the steel Chevron rollback, frame and the drivetrain with PTO and hydraulic winch. A serious winch or two is extremely handy and doesn't take much space. Old Holmes wrecker winches with or without the boom are plentiful and mounted in the bed between the boxes kick ass for loading trailers etc.

For cruising they make fun toy haulers:

    https://www.hotcars.com/chevy-c50-nicest-restorations/

We'll need a thread with pics of the adventure of course. If you don't save the box bed the boxes are easy to cut away then bolt to walls or frames to make tough wall cabinets. I used two that way and they work great bolted inside my Steelmaster. Of course they'd bolt to shipping container walls etc too.
    ....

I have a Gasbox stainless carb brace and like it so let's go with one of those
. A lot of parts on the initial build may not remain there but I'll need it together to sort that out.

    ....

I paid less than that for a brand new BDL set up... Is Primo that much better than BDL? I thought they were both shoulder to shoulder, pretty much(?).

Maybe, depending on what someone was after. But I'd be pulling the trigger on that... What a sweet ass setup!

Don't know why, but it seems like all the good stuff is many $$$ .. !!

This is made in the good old US of A ...

(China is not in the game with making these, if they can't make a zillion of them and have a huge market for em they're not going to brother making any)

    Pretty much a one-off ...

    On a different note ...

Today my heart is heavy ....
There is no-more Drag in "Dragstews"

More than 20 years ago in Las Vegas I formed a partnership with a Lady, her last name was "Dragon", my last name was "Stewart"
We blended our names together and came up with Dragstews ...
Had a good run with the business until she gambled the shop's money away ...
On that move she was terminated from the shop ...

Anyway we stayed in touch .... Kinda shared our life's stories, enjoyed each other's company, ya might say ...

This morning I learned that she had died in a house fire alongside her friend of 30 years ...

    ... /// https://www.fox5vegas.com/2022/09/22...rsday-morning/ \\\ ...

    I shall miss her ...

    Farewell my friend ...

    .. RIP Liz ..

Sorry to hear that Dragstews. I’d always assumed the “Drag” in your name reffered to drag racing. None the less, hope your holding up ok.
