Nice work under inconvenient conditions!
I'd almost prefer a bore brush up the urethra to sand blasting on a hot humid day and that might depend on caliber....

My Bud showed up with the Sportie jug ...
He has a sack full of these, told him to pick the worst of the lot ..
After a run to Ace Hardware for some cut-off wheels, went to town on getting a piece that will suffice ..
Lets see what can be done with that hunk of metal ?? ...
Will dress it in after it's welded on ...
All dressed up for the wedding and "No Filler" ...
Got some coming ...
Along with this
Dat's ^^ for my hood ornament project on the Binder ...

Got the end-play in spec ...
Only one more item is needed to be able to lock down the cam cover for the final time ....
Going to add a Evo part that serves a unique purpose .. (On order)
Then can nail down the cover for the long ride ..Last edited by Dragstews; 05-17-2022 at 6:11 PM.

Good bye Rat-Rod, hello Street-Rod ...
It's all Dodge ... 360 ci, 727 TF .. Does have a Mustang II rack & pinion with a IDIDIT column ..
He asked me if I wanted to take it for a spin ... Told him it had way to many sharp objects in the cab for me ... !!
It's a 1938 Dodge ...

Sweet fin repairs (which unlike the misery of sand blasting are fun relaxing mind food).
What style TIG cup and electrode material/diameter do you like?
What machine settings do you run for fins?

Tungsten Electrode is 2% Thoriated 1/16" Red ...
Alumina Ceramic Cup # 5 ...
Filler is the Muggy 77 3/32" rods .. (Flux removed)
Amps set at 70 max ..
I'll snap a photo of the welder showing the setting ...
This is the model Miller Tig Welder I have ...

Done with the fins ....
Going to blast the welded areas just so the powder will have a nice surface to grab onto ...
Did some sanding with the Hobby tool ..
Flatten out some of the high spots ...
Most likely it was overkill, but wanted to see how well the tool worked ..
(Going to give it a workout on the Binder's hood ornament)
Sent it today to the chrome shop to have the old chrome striped off ..
Once it gets back to me, will jump to with the Super Alloy 1 solder ...
Hoping it will slick up enough for chroming ...
(Really don't want to buy a re-pop, they think very highly of em)

That is nice indeed!
Thanks for the settings info. I like that oscillating tool too. Imma have to get one since it's so small.
That Binder hood ornament deserves its own thread for the metal repair or drop the picks here since those repairs can save big money. I'm looking forward to seeing da wizard's workshop when I drive down to get the engine.

... ? Wizard Huh ? ...
BTW ....
Parts are beginning to show up ..
Got a zinc plated dist. hold-down clamp that fits .. (Pretty much a first, cause all the others that I acquired over the years needed to be hand fitted)
S&S order came in ... On that order I also got you a new O-ring for your Super-B carb ...
With these clamps you will be in need of a carb support ..
S&S makes a nice one that mounts off the center motor case stud ..
It's adjustable ..
Gasbox also makes one that mount off the motor case ..
Non adjustable ..
Also W&W has a Stainless Steel support that is really nice too .. It bolts to the top frame motor mount ...
Using one of the W&W's on my Super-B ..
It don't come this shinny ... I hit it a lick on the buffer ..
Valve train parts from KPMI are in shipment, might see them tomorrow ??Last edited by Dragstews; 05-21-2022 at 7:04 PM.

Just wow! Looks like new.
Farmall, do you have the frame & tins mocked up yet? Interested in where you are going with the build.

I need 3.5 gallon repop split tanks (I treat sheet metal as a consumable and this un is for riding...) and a bunch of other stuff so they may was well come via Drag. Ya can't keep businesses healthy just by cherrypicking minimal orders.
Split tank buyers should note repop tank makers do some Strange Shit so checking new tanks on the frame on arrival is wise. Never bend tank tabs or "load" them under tension because they have so much leverage over their little bitty welds. A few minutes to mock 'em up then look from all angles pays off before painting or coating. (I got lazy and skipped that once before powder, fortunately with no witnesses to the noises I made after offering them up to my Shovel then finding out I'd have to bash the inboard side because spacing would look like ass (and not good ass).
Who makes repop 3.5s that look right? No need for the shift gate mount bungs, or for the stock fuel shutoff as I prefer Pingel.
