Does anyone know the installed height spec for a 1981 Harley xlh front end ? Would it be .50 ? Also does anyone know the factory specs to torque pinch bolts ? Putting fork boots on just want to make sure they’re out back on right. Thanks

'81 front forks have tapered tubes which socket into the top tree, and there is no height spec.

Methinks you are dealing with a later fork, with pinch bolts on the top tree? If so, on a standard XL, those tubes extend about 1/8" above the top tree, and you can adjust upward from there if you want to change the ride height.
