Let's see some rear brake set ups in your rigid

I'm looking for ideas for a rear brake set up on my rigid.

Its a 1978 shovel with a hardtail kit (voodo vintage).

I've seen some pics of people using Softail and XL Sportster calipers and fabbing a bracket onto the frame, but I'd like to see more pics especially of the brackets.

Fab Kevin has a nice set up but I'd like to try and make something myself.

This is my first build and have little experience in fabrication.

    Thanks

I'm digging this, seems simple enough.

Ok this is another useless question............

ALL bikes have rear brakes.................. Just do a search for rigid BIKES............... And they will have brakes.......

      You can't be that busy???????

        Now that is an understandable.......

Once you find a few that you like..... Come back and post pics of them and ask for help on how to set them up...........

But to ask for pics of something that every bike has doesn't make sense.......

Prolly cause it's likely a really bad idea. I get it. But it's what I'm running.

It's a cable operated ironhead sportster rear drum brake modded to align with a 1982 shovel and cowpie trans. Fun fact, all it ended up taking was 1/8" spacers between the drum and wheel hub... custom axle blocks to accommodate for the axle length... and a custom axle. Fun stuff all because I like the ironhead drum face plate more than the big twin ones.

This is a simple brake set up. A billet brake caliper bracket. Ultima 4 piston brake caliper.
It is a floating caliper bracket.

This is an evo sportster rear caliper/line/brake switch/master cylinder assembly I got on ebay. I just lazily straightened the brake line out, made a custom bracket to mount the master, and stuck it behind a factory shovelhead mid control brake pedal. I also had to cut down the goofy stock anchor point on the caliper ear so I had a flat surface to secure an anchor rod to my frame.

Brake caliper with four pistons, Ultima. It's a caliper bracket that floats. [https://supermario-bros.co]super mario bros[/url]

Not a hardtail but proof that you can put 5 lbs. of shit in a 2 pound bag.

Dude, those dual sport tires ride so nice!
Smooth on the asphalt, dig well in the dirt or (dry)grass, and stick fast in the rain.
I can even stay upright in Florida sugar sand!

Just gotta watch the advertised percentages
The shinko pictured is like 80% street, perfect for me.

The 50/50 ones are a bit much, noisy and gripless on the street.

One of my favorite stock rear calipers
84-86 Softail and FXR, I think.
First Harley brake that actually slows you down, and it has fins!
It's a floater, and the Softail bracket is perfect for a hartail setup.
Shown mated to a Yamaha XS650 mag and rotor
