RIP Sporty, nostalgia pics (with wreck shot)
I know this bike ain't world class but I'm still gonna miss it. Rode it pretty much daily for three years, rain/shine/snow, wrenched on it, did a lot of good trips on it so I'm bummed it's gone. Wasn't worth a lot of money but worth a lot to me.
Sadly an Uber driver decided looking both ways is overrated...
Just out of shot is my ankle in 4 pieces and my foot quite literally hanging off. Bike got written off by the insurance.
Onto the next!

Rip little sporty. They may not be worth a million but they sure do make a million memories.

Lost my Sportster the same way. I miss the bike, but the insurance check got me into the big twin game.
More importantly, you're not dead.

Wow you took a serious hit, very glad you’re ok. I too lost a sporty this same way and echo many of the same feelings expressed in here already. It’s tough to lose a bike that way but you’re still here and that’s all that matters.

Yeah feeling lucky for sure!
The insurers wanted 1000 for salvage value and it was basically just the engine that was salvageable. Bars/frame and forks all got bent up. I took the payout and will use it towards my next bike.
Definitely a good opportunity to get a big twin and I'm shopping for one, I'd love another Sporty when I can afford two bikes.
