    Hardtail yamaha xt x

Hi anyone hardtailed a motorcycle with a monoshock amd swing arm?
Currently I have a yamaha xt that I have made to resemble a rat bike. Want to be different and make a bobber out of a super motard, call me crazy, its something I want to do
Attached is some photos of the bike with no rear suspension and Id want to lower the bike as low as poss, new monoshock is over 200, a bit of metal tube is 20...who can help me.
    Thanks

The last photo is how she sits with rear suspension.

If selling the bike and buying something more aesthetically suitable isn't practical, have at it.

I suggest riding it with a solid strut in place of the shock for a bit so you know what you're getting into!

What about replacing that straight swingarm for an earlier triangular-shaped one, like from a '82 XT250 - give you a more traditional-looking hardtail:

Rear fork as a bolt on conversion would make sense, especially when you find out how much the ride will suck vs. a functioning suspension.

Thanks to all the advice, I decided its not a great idea to hard tail this bike... Managed to find a pre owned shock on ebay so iv gone with that. Cheers everyone.
