Yamaha Bolt Tank Swap
I wanted to ask some of the greybeards that have been around the block a time or two and try to find out if it is possible to swap the tank on a '15 Yamaha Bolt with an HD sportster tank or some kind of aftermarket option. I hate the pinch welded seam on the Bolt's tank and I like the look of the Iron 883's tank better. Just thought I would ask and see if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Cheers,
Wyldman

It most likely will not a direct swap but anything is possible. Post some photos I’m sure that would help to see what you’re working with. Look at some tanks that have tabs that will mount to the top of the back bone. Drilling and welding bungs in may give you more tank options for tank changes down the road rather than how the modern sporty tanks mount

Only you can help you
First take your tank off and measure the width and depth of the Bolt's tunnel.
Measure the mounting points.
And the plumbing, and the fitting sizes...
Take pictures and share them with us so we can see what you're up against.
You'll be doing all the other bolt owners a service as well.
If you Don't have one on hand...
Stock and aftermarket Sportster tanks are plentiful and the measurements are readily advertized and/or Google-able.
Have you looked at the FI Sportster tanks?
