Here's what ya got ....
Left case is after/market .... The years it would work on is 48 to 54 for the 1" taper motor sprocket shaft...
Heads ... Those are the second run for the Mo-Co .... Folks say that they are the best heads of all three runs that H-D made...
And ... Whoever made up the center shift and peg was a ......

Ok ......
Like I said.... If it was me, I'd start with a new frame that looks just like what that lower end came with when it rolled out the factory doors back in 52 ....
What would you say .... If I said I could have a brand new frame sitting on your doorstep in less than a hour .... ???
No magic involved ..... I'm dead serious ... !!! ... I CAN make that happen ....!!!
Be just like one that your heckler "BBQ" got a few months back ...
Get ready ...
Get set ...
Start building .....
Yo BBQ .... Show her what she would be getting ....Last edited by Dragstews; 07-28-2018, 4:39 PM.Take my 45 and outrun em all ..Comment

What does bbcute's bike look like now? I don't even want to think about a frame yet. Have to focus on getting the parts needed first to get it running.
Where are the parts now? I'd be interested in taking a look one of these days.
Thanks!

First thing is perform a thorough external inspection and a compression or better a leakdown test to determine top end condition. Either tool is reasonable online. (Get proficient at online research and parts shopping. You have a shitload of (interesting) reading ahead.

Got 5 frames sitting in a warehouse 8.1 miles from you in Inglewood ...
That would be 26 minutes driving time for you ....
(As long as you don't get behind OJ)

Then it's had many rods thrown in it. Inspect the bottom end for impact damage and excessive play.
Sounds as if you been there, done that ... !!!! .... Lol

farmall forgot to say the very first thing is ..... Get a primary/clutch on the critter so you can perform the tests ....Last edited by Dragstews; 07-29-2018, 6:04 AM.Take my 45 and outrun em all ..Comment

Hey I’m not a heckler...I just do “extreme vetting”
So if Christa has a strong stomach and weak mind...she can study the trials and tribulations of buying a total shitbox and then doing something with it....by reading the thread
I picked up this 1952 FL earlier this year. I want to get a correct rigid frame for it. It's got an unknown year swingarm frame now and has been this way for at least 40+ years. I'm planning on switching over the motor/trans and wheels/forks and doing a jockey shift. Getting a HD frame is probably impossible but what year would
Helen Keller would’ve had this done a year ago. I’m just a mongoloid who should have all my tools repossessed but I do get some miles in so there’s that.
And, If that wasn’t gut wrenching enough to read then you can delve into the infamous “my first Shovel” thread which is rife with sodomy, animal lust, incessant oil leaks and a deep biker bonding experience. It has driven other forum members to insanity, suicide and a few gender reassignments. You have been warned!!!!

She said she wants to get it to run ....
Well, do think it had a mag on it cause I do see a long stud in the case for running a Joe Hunt ....
Going back to a Mag might not be the best thing to do at the moment due to how hard they are to kickstart ...
Better get a battery ign. in it for now...
Looks like all the primary parts will be needed...
Instead of going to a chain drive as what Harley ran on it back in the day, best to install a belt drive... If you intend to run a primary cover you will need the 1.5" belt.. Can run a 2" or 3" but those will be a open belt drive..
You will need to order it to fit 54 and back year models..
A clutch will be needed .... Barnett would have all parts to complete that area of needs..
Pushrods ..... Need a photo of your lifters in order to make the call on what you will be in need of there..
The 48 to 52 tappets would be a fine choice to be running cause they are easy to adjust... I'm sure whatever is there now will be solid's cause the 52 and back motors don't support hyd. lifters ....
Clean the carb (May need to kit it), new o-rings and clamps on the intake, change the oil and a few kicks should do it...
Forgot ... Change the oil in the tranny while your at it...Last edited by Dragstews; 07-31-2018, 6:15 PM.Take my 45 and outrun em all ..Comment
