Default If I run a spacer with super b carb do I still need to use an insulator block

I am going to need to run a 1" spacer with my super b carb because my new oil line design on my shovelhead interferes with the enricher. So my question is do I still need the insulator block?

Probably not. I've run Bs with and without and never noticed a difference.

With a spacer that big I wouldn't worry about the insulator block.

I always thought the shovels ran better with a 1" spacer anyway. Something something intake tract length increased velocity something something.

That said I use the phenolic spacer. It's a thermal insulator that prevents the carb from soaking in unnecessary engine heat.
