1984 motor into a 1973 frame?
My buddy picked up a basket case 83 no title. we found a roller 73 with a ton of nice parts (titled) and that is the style frame he likes so if we used all 73 parts what hassles would we see with mounting up the left side shift motor?
Thanks

I've never done it, but I was told that the crossbar on the bottom frame rails either needs to be removed or modified for clearance. Some also say the lower frame rail needs to be modified for the oil pump. I've seen later motor in early frames, so I know it can be done. How much work is the issue.

Ok
we got a nice looking 83 motor. I have no idea if it needs to be rebuilt anyone have any tips on where to begin testing or just try to start it?

I imagine a compression and leak down test to start. Scope to look into the cylinders, maybe. look at the plugs, etc.
