Well I'm glad I posted this on Chop Cult. Thanks to all that answered. And thanks for Hammer setting it straight. I will not kick a guy when he is down unless I want him to stay down. Hammer you can consider my last $37.75 a donation to get the Horse back on its feet. But it will be a long time before I buy another copy. Hope you and your staff the best.

I still haven't received anything since April.
A reply to my email inquiry , asks me to be patient.
Six months seems patient to me?
Been a subscriber for 7 or 8 yrs, frankly it's the lack of explanation that pisses me off.
I went out and bought the last 2 issues, not a word about whatever is going on, which just pisses me off more.

Bottom line, the Horse got in a financial pinch with printers and distributors (Allegedly) and had to retool and got rid of subscriptions and only selling retail in Walmart and a few other retailers.
But the point of the thread was to gripe and complain about the lack of info, poor communication, and any info any one had about whats really going on.
BBut you would know that if you read the rest of the thread.

But good luck getting answers,, The point is, people DO WANT to support the magazine, and are angry about the lack of info which is totally fair. But other than what I posted, and others, not a lot of info so call them or better yet find out when they will be at an event and go ask.
There was a GREAT posting by George the Painter years ago when he strapped a huge chunk of lunch meat to his bike and rode to OCC and got the (at that point) pretty ripe meat signed by Paul Sr, Jr and others. Then stood on his bikes seat and sang "My Baloney has a first name,, its.........." and Security was called and he was escorted off premises. Pictures were taken! Maybe you should do the same!
Let us know if you do and Ill happily donate a Paypal to a gofund me account to help cover fuel to get there. I bet it would be quite popular. (Bail money is on you)

Still waiting. I filed for a refund over a month ago. Sent e-mails, actually received some correspondence, but with zero results. Then I received an e-mail telling me to file for a refund and they'd get me taken care of. I guess they ignored the first request I had filed. So, I filed again, referenced the first filing, because I don't want them to think I'm trying to double dip on them. That's been a couple of weeks now. Thankfully, I'm well past the age of holding my breath to get my way. I'd have been dead weeks ago. LOL

I haven't replied to anything about this topic anywhere. Because I stopped getting the Horse 5 years ago, and stopped hanging around the website. The reason I see their demise is a long played out one, over many years. You can't run a business by burning your bridges and walking over people. If you look back through the years of the Horse, and see all the builders who where featured and promoted by the Horse. Then to soon be come blood enemies, or even worse. The list is long, how long could that go on without hurting there core business model. Take away the main source of your material, you become stagnant. And with a whole new readership coming of age, they had nothing to offer. They did it to themselves and can't even see it.

But If I was locked up or a remote deployment in the Military and my main entertainment was one of these mags,. I would be seriously upset as well. When I was overseas, No matter what military base I was at, It was a big deal to get mail. (Long before the internet). You would to the base PO and look in the little window and if there was mail in it, Happy day. If it was cool mail from home or something you ordered that was a REALLY Good day,, But even junk mail was better than nothing. Just that piece of paper in that little window gave you a warm fuzzy.
Most would never understand,, it just was that way. So, again long before the internet, snap chat, skype or anything like that.
So, One friend always had armloads of mail most days,,. we asked what the deal was. Simple but crude. He told us... "You know in the back of porn mags there is those ads for $9.99 porn compilation tapes? Order one of those, and they sell your name to every smut mailing list on the planet. Problem solved. Everyday there is mail.!".... So, it did work. Bet it would not in a prison, but for lonely and bored GIs we sure got a lot of enjoyment out of seeing our mailboxs full.
Maybe a stupid comment, but sure beats some lame ass phony tribute to veterans on facebook.

Got this email on 09/12 too...
"We are in the process of sending out Issue #171. We have over 8000 to send out, so it will take a little time. Sorry for the inconvenience."
And I'm still waiting for #171 and #172. I recently sent another email inquiry with no reply. I'd just appreciate an answer, you know?
