Thread: CM450A question

  1. #1

    Default CM450A question

I am currently in the process of hard tailing a 450 Hondamatic. For the exhaust do i NEED to use the power chamber? Or can i just run straight pipes on it? Do carbs need to be adjusted for such a thing or? Any help is greatly appreciated

It's a four stroke, right? No chamber necessary. That's a two stroke thing...
But yes, you will need to tune the carbs to match whatever pipes you come up with.
I recommend some minimal, free flowing baffles. Just to cut the sound a bit, otherwise, you'll never get over on and off the base

LONG straight pipes and Mikuni VM32 jetted for a CB450, the stock CV carbs can be troublesome without an airbox
