Low and slow, My 883 Bob Job
I'm still pretty new here. My name is Ryan, and I'm a tattoo apprentice from Maine. Since there is 3 feet of snow on the ground right now and I'm missing warm weather and riding, i figured id share some photos with you guys here at chop cult.
My bike started life as a 1986 883, and was pretty ugly in my opinion. I love the look of the post war knucklehead/pan bobbers, but that just wasn't in my budget... so i ended up with a sporty. I in listed the skills of my buddy Prent to do the work as I currently don't have a garage or the time to put into a build like this. He was able to do everything i wanted, I would bring him a pile of parts and he made em fit. My little Sporty turned out exactly how i envisioned.
ok, enough with the gab and on with the pictures!
photoshop of paint idea
tins back from paint frame back from powder
my first ride
new wheels
thanks for looking

Good job on capturing the spirit of the older Harleys.
What's the deal with the chain on the door of your house?

This bike is so nicely done but for some reason I just can't bring my mind around to it and I hate myself for it haha. I think once you put the 1250 kit on it, it'll be more "hot roddish" like it is in my mind. To me it just screams "gasser". All of that being said, I think you hit the nail directly on the head with what you were going for, and with some nice natural patina on the tins it's gonna look absolutely killer.
What is that springer? It is one of the newer antique repops?

yeah its a Hardbody antique rep
i know what you mean, i wanted a 1200 when i got it. but i bought it off my buddy dirt cheap, and it is actually quicker than i expected after the diet its had! and i myself am not a big dude so that helps haha
the 883 is actually a big step up from my previous bike

Quite simply the best Sportster build I have seen in a long time. I signed up to this forum just to say that and kudos to you and your builder bud.
Obviously looks are subjective, and this is the direction I am going with my project 86 1200 so I am biased towards this style, but a job well done.
Is there any chance of a profile picture (either side will do) with someone sitting on it (preferably a six foot person) so I can judge how I will look on mine with your stretch and drop measurements thanks?
Also, was there any rake alteration at all (frame or cups) and was there any springer offset?
Thanks, and cheers
Will

Nice machine. Since OP is an artist and there's no tank divider strip, an artful one dould complete the look and be good advertising.
As of today these browser add-ons work to view Photobucket images from threads.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...et-fix/?src=ss
and
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...lated?hl=en-US
To save images, screenshot and crop if saving is broken.Last edited by farmall; 10-28-2017 at 5:45 PM.
