What makes him a "hipster" rather than just plain and simple irritating?

Seems like the word's been so over used by the mainstream that it's lost any meaning. What does it mean these days, "anyone I hate"?

I believe you have confused the term "hipster" with the term "douchebag".
Hipsters are "scene" kids (or unfortunately adults).
They are responsible for fedoras, Freddy Mercury style tight striped shirts, tight cut-off jeans, $100 jean vests, and $70 flannels.
A hipster would not have the balls, nor the compunction to do something like this as they would not be able to talk about their "art" while doing it, and there is no way for them to film it with constant focal shifts over bluegrass music.

In the motorcycling world, a "hipster" is just a younger better looking guy, with better ink, pulling better pussy ... and riding bikes few to none of us did, nor could afford to, "back in the day".

For the record, I'm no where near a hipster biker but I'm grateful for their scene because it has meant that I've gotten to hang out with far better looking young women than ever hung out with us in the old days.

It's time to accept that they are just bikers too and without fresh, younger blood, biking is dead.

We should have an official "Hug a Hipster Day".

Please allow me to re-phrase ... "Hug a Hipster Chick Day".

Prompted by all this, I had a sniff around what the Hipster thang is supposed to be all about it and the interweb says, "search for authenticity" hence the studious attentions to re-creating better than back in the day, 'back in the day' bikes, boots, leathers, beards etc.

I dunno, "back in the day" ... I can remember when men shaved and women did not. I suppose an "authentic" 70s bush revival is too much to ask for?

I'm in favor of anything that brings in more better women into the biking scene.

I wish i could afford a trip to japan. Those guys and gals are doing it right. The lowrider scene is really kicking off there as well. I'd love to ride there for a couple of weeks.
