Default Naming your bike,,,putting name on bike,, and any consequences of doing so.

Was talking with a good friend this past weekend and the topic got around to "naming" your bike.
We both have lost friends that were riding when they died.
But we noticed a "trend" concerning those deaths.
EVERYONE that "named" their bike,,then put the name on the bike,, had gotten into a fatal accident.

Just wondering if anyone else here knew of anyone who was in an accident and either died,, or survived after doing the same thing?
I know it's a fukked up topic but I figgered I would ask here,, out of curiosity.

Did you actually put the "name" of your vehicle ON the vehicle?
That is what we were thinking when we were talking about it.
Not just giving your vehicle a name,,, but putting that name ON the vehicle.

Look for other things they may have had in common.

I don't anthropmorphize vehicles or know anyone who does. I view that as slightly wack, like when someone refers to a vehicle as a "she". The flags I get from that are "emotional silly person" unless they are bolting a fleshlight or a bad dragon to the thing, in which case they are a sick fuck and I approve though have no wish to emulate.

Vanners do it all the time and paint it right on the side of the van. But they are not human names. Most are like "Emerald Express" or "Spirit of '76".

I call my sporty the leper. On my ride home from buying it I had the front fender, jiffy, and clutch perch fall off. Bitch has been shedding ever since. I should own stock in loctite by now and Shit still falls off but I love herClick image for larger version.

Well in the mist of flinging wrenches and kicking the side of my roll away I usually name my bike. This way my neighbors, wife, or kids don't think I'm a complete lunatic. Never had the name put on the bike. And never had any bad luck. Go figure. At least my neighbors don't think I'm bat shit crazy.

I was just wondering,,,, that's all.
Seems quite strange though that 2 people I know,,,named their bikes,,,put the name on the bike.
(one on the tank,,other on side cover)
Then pretty soon thereafter,,died on those machines.
When my friend and myself were talking we just thought it pretty strange and I thought I would ask here if anyone else had this experience.
Or knew of anyone who shared the same fate.

Most every boat that has ever sank had a name painted on it, Think about that one...

I dont necessarily name my vehicle(s) ever but do believe they have a temper (sometimes)

My old truck (01 F150) hated certain friends and would not start for them, EVER.

but if I got into it, or the misses it would fire up first turn no problem.

Since I call mine, (quite frequently), "mother fucker"!, "cocksucker"! and "damn it"!, I guess it has three names...................
