    Dyna Wheelies

So I used to ride a 1200 sportster, and I could pull a wheelie pretty easy. I bought a new dyna last week and I'm having trouble getting the front end up. I'm doing the same thing I did on the sporty but the rear tire just breaks loose and spins.
I'm thinking its got something to do with the clutch? Six speed tranny vs the 5 in the sporty?
I know once I find that sweet spot it'll pull up but does anyone else have any ideas or had similar problems adjusting to a different bike?

I have the same issue. '09 FXDL just DOES NOT pull the wheel up like my 120+ horse V65 did on the regular. The MOCO must have designed some stability into the Dyna line as far as staying on the pavement goes. It ABSOLUTELY loves burnin the back tire off but doesn't seem to wanna point her to the sky. I've only gotten the wheel up once and that was an accident going uphile. Scared the livin hell outta me too as I wasn't prepared and it went WAY up that one lone time.

If you ever wondered what it feels like to have a bike on your chest keep trying..... It will hook up one day..... That frame is designed differently......

HDs are dogs out of the box. A V65 is built to haul ass. Burning the back tire is mostly due to insufficient hookup. Harleys are for old folks who like to go slow.

Not my girl from "back in the day" but I sure am proud of her.

I mean really, even a chick wouldn't be caught dead on one, especially in bogus chopper form.

I'm not even 40 yet but I feel like I must be getting old with this Dyna wheelie stuff.
If I want to ride wheelies I ride my dirt bike.
If I want to throw roost I ride my dirt bike.
I've got a Dyna, not so affectionately named "the no-kick bitch".
It runs just fine and gets me to work everyday, but sure as fuck wasn't made to wheelie.
Damn head bearings on those things have enough problems as it is.....

In all honesty my best guess is I'm being a little conservative with the throttle and my posture is putting a little more of my weight to the front. I'll adjust the tire pressure and sit a little deeper in the saddle and give her a rip like I did the ol' sporty later on this week. I know the bike is more than capable so its gotta be rider error.

I'd like to at least hit 500 miles on the damn thing before I tear shit up.
