What's this engine worth? 883 theft recovery

I had a '98 XL883 stolen from me a few years ago, and about 6 months ago the police found my engine and some other parts on some guys bike. I don't have time or money to do anything with the pallet of parts they gave back, especially the engine. The only reason I haven't sold it yet is because the numbers have been chiseled out... I'm gonna get all the paperwork from the Dept. of Public Safety which shows everything is legit/the engine is mine, but what's a fair price on this thing? It's got about 20k miles on it, and it will NOT include the carb/manifold.

I disagree, without numbers it ain't worth 300. Who wants a used 883 top end? Not many.

Yep I agree...... It's a parts motor.... The case is scrap.....
