Got a whole heap of shit in the mail during my winter break, a lot of necessary shit for the engine build like complete gasket set + oil seals, triumph legend carbs, optical ignition, valves and cam chain, valve retainers.
Also got a set of 850 cylinders to bore out..
Wallet's getting thinner while the bike gets fatter!

Left the cylinders and head at the engine guru last week, and the engine block to a firm specializing in ice and plastic bead blasting. Gonna be interesting to see the finish!
Now i'm working on the tank lid, creeping slowly forward..

Yer really going whole hog on that poor lil' triple! Damn good job on the tank. Gotta say, don't think that I have ever seen a hand-beaten bronze tank before. Please tell me yer not gonna disguise that sweet bronze under a coat of paint.
Can't wait to see how this finishes up. should be a real unique machine. I took the easy way out with my XS750...
I have learned to love the wail of a triple at speed...

Humble of you to call that awesome machine simple, dude!
Of course I'm not covering the bronze, what would be the point of buying expensive ass bronze then?
Going to be running it ratstyle first year, then i might be polishing the bronze a bit, when i have the engine good and broken in with all the bits working.
And yea, they really start to sing around 8k rpm. Just love it..
But it was more love at first test ride for me, haha!

Have you checked out the patinas that artists use on bronze sculptures? There's a ton of different colors/tints available. They can even be applied in patterns - checkerboard, stripes, etc. Go crazy since yer already using bronze.
BTW, didya notice my avatar pic?

Gotta love the acid! Glad to offer a little help. I have had a couple pieces cast in bronze and found the art of patina is just as rewarding as the actual creation of the sculpture. If ya really wanna see the masters of patination, check out Japanese and Chinese bronzes. Blow yer mind what those cats were doing back in the day.
The pipes are painted with a hi-temp ceramic paint. Held up well to a lot of riding. I'll try to find the manufacturer if yer interested.

Will be investigating..
Since I'm a stainless welding specialist I'll be making the pipes out of stainless, i want them blue past the second bend..
