Default My GN400 Bar Hopper Project

    Hey All,
I wanted to jump out here share my new project. I just bought a 1980 GN400X that I plan to basically rebuild/redo. It was converted to a semi-hardtail and lowered quite a bit. I plan to chop the back off and add on an actual hardtail section. I will also stretch it some, as I am 6'1" and it is a little on the short side for me. I toyed with the idea of converting it to a brat since the swingarm is still on it, but I chose to keep it a hardtail since it is really not a great highway bike anyway. I plan to build a XS650 Brat next for the road trips. For now this will be a good starter bike to get my fabrication/creativity juices flowin.

I am learning quick that these bikes are not too common and parts are kinda scarce or expensive. Plus there are very few that have been turned into bobbers/brats. With that said, anyone who has customized one of these bikes please feel free to introduce yourself. I am sure I am going to need some help and guidance throughout this project.

    Shawn

Yeah tattooedemployed13 I figured I would have to build it myself. Where did you get your pieces from? I am looking to get the TC Bros. Universal Weld-On Hardtail Frame Kit for mine.

Cool little bike. Welcome to site, and good luck with the build.
Thanks PeteyD13! I look forward to learning from those that have already been down this road.
