Default Name this wheel. I dare ya.

Customer brought in this front wheel yesterday. I have no idea what it is. I have called Buchanan's. No dice. I have called Wheels Through Time. No dice. I am waiting on a callback from Barber's.

Then I thought, "Wait! One of the old heads may recognize it!". So now I am here.

Here's what I know about it:

6 Spoke Cast (no markings) with a Sun 21" Rim
The band is affixed with button head allens
The inside of each allen has been filled with some sort of resin/epoxy?

Any ideas, leads, clues, hints, names of old defunct companies? Ken @ Buchanan's said it might possibly be some sort of weird Invader prototype, but he wasn't sure.

I don't know what they are, but they remind me of the rims we all had on our bmx bikes when we were kids, but that was a long time ago in the BPG (Before Protective Gear) period when our parents figured that the occasional trip to the ER for stitches was just part of life.

That looks to be a home built set up. Take a mag and cut off the rim, put the spoked leftovers in a lathe or on a rotary table and turn it to fit a rim that has never been drilled. Doesn't Buchanans sell raw rims without holes?

You can still buy raw Sun rims. Custom two piece would make sense but there is also a matching rear rim.

I think we have a winner! Now I just need to figure out the differences between the 100-900 series.

    Joel,

Do you have any other information on Avenger? The site links appear dead.
