    Default Titling question????

Ok, so I was just wondering how this would work. Say I have an 81 shovel motor and trans. And an older frame, lets just say a '69. Would the bike be then titled as a 69???
I'm in Mass and can't find shit on the RMVs site. Not a real situation, but I was just wondering how this would work.

    Thanks for any input.

Pretty sure it's based on the frame, but if your DMV and state regs are anything like Nebraska then it' s likely the opposite of whatever seems to make the most sense.

I do a lot of these here in California.

Here.... non-numbered Harley frames (1969 and before) the bike titled off of the motor numbers, however on a 1981 Harley it's titled off of the frame numbers.

So..... that bike could be registered as as a 1981 Harley Davidson with a replacement frame, or as a 1969 Harley with a replacement engine ( depends on the mood of the CHP doing the VIN inspection) ...but it has to be an actual Harley frame .

they are always trying to get rid of bikes without frame numbers so ether way that frame would be "Blue Tagged" with an assigned VIN number.
