voes. where does the second hose go??

have a 99 sporty and out from the voes comes one hose tha splits into two.
one obviously goes into carb for vaccum, buy where does the other go.
I've had it hanging lose buy surely that can't be right? motor is running fine.
any input appreciated

It would go to the vacum operated petcock. You should plug/cap the open hose or just rub a hose from carbs to VOES. Assuming the vacum petcock has been eliminated since the bike runs with the open line. Your VOES may not work as intended with the open line not letting enough vacum form.

you must plug the other line as that sort of vacuum leak can very easily melt a piston.
