    Rattlecan triage

So, my wife's 750 shadow is butt fucking ugly. It's bad. It's shitty paint makes me want to kick it over and set it on fire. TRIBAL! SKULLS! And SHITTY PINSTRIPING! It's glorious. I'm tearing into it ASAP, but it's gonna be a temporary fix. Strip the paint, quick rattle can design... Here is the rub: I want a rattle can clear coat that doesn't melt immediately when gasoline touches it. I'm also open to color options. Open ears gents.

It's the blue one, In case you were confused which one I was referring to. The camera pulled from the tribal at the last second.

Everyone seems to agree that the spraymax 2k is the way to go for clear. I don't have personal experience with it yet but will be using it this Monday when I repaint my bike.

spraymax 2k seems to be the go to. I also used some clear coat I got from the parts store that said it was automotive grade and meant for door jams. Spilled gas all over my tank and no paint came off.

paint shops can put automotive clear coats into aerosol cans, on request.

I just used that ceramic engine clear from Oriellys on mine. Been on there for over a year and I've spilt gas on it. Still looks great.

I know NAPA Auto Parts does the whole automotive paint in an aerosol on demand. Well, at least in Texas they do. I used to work in their automotive paint department years ago. Try checking with them to see if they can do it. Wouldn't hurt...

Leave it until you can get it painted for real.

Wish I could. The paint that's on it is separating from the tank and has big air bubbles in it. Plus the lady hates the paint. Don't blame her. It's pretty awful. Don't know what the original owner was thinking.
