I just wanted to get peoples opinions on using rebarb for sissy bars. I'm just wondering about overall strength. I like the look but don't wanna bother attaching em if they are just gonna bend over on the freeway when I've got a sleeping bag on it Haha. I was thinking 2-3 feet tall.

Use a thick enough bar and it's not going to bend. I've seen guys do it well. Most of the time it looks cheap. -
i use rebar and people talk shit, but its interesting and cool, no matter what the SSteel whores say. just reinforce it and get 1/2+ ull be okComment

the sell steel bars at home depot and lowes around here fairly cheap. If you dont end up going with rebar. Its your bike build it how ever the hell ya want. Its a conversation piece, its even cooler when you steal it from a construction site haha i kid i kid.Comment

I was thinking about making a sissy bar out of hexagonal brass stock, but then my bro gave me a super pimp trident sissy for a Harley, Trident sissy bar for a Triumph Trident...Fitting !
You may want to check out this thread, for an affordable alternative to the re-bar.
Maybe you don't have a welder. Maybe you don't know how to braze. Maybe you want something a little different than the "kits" out there.
