The felt "twitch" is just because the center of gravity is raised up. Not dangerous to ride like a bike with to little or negative trail. Just takes some getting used to. Post up some pics of your ide.

When I first built mine 4yrs ago I had a springer on the front that kept the bottom frame rails parallel to the ground which I liked at the time. Then I swapped forks to stock HD narrow glide 39mm tubes and it raised the front a little along with the 21" wheel. I dig the look. Mine isn't crazy but it's definitely taller up front.

without rake 14 over I don't think will be ride-able

Yeah I don't see a set of +14 fork working on a non-raked frame. Would probably even need some stretch in the down tubes just to get the trail numbers in the safe zone.

Not an xs, but this triumph is claimed to be 12 over. They did it back in the day

Yeah but the original poster isnt looking for something that sits THAT high in the front. My previous post about the +14 forks wasn't meant to say it couldn't be ridden with that front end and stock rake, just that it would be too tall. and then if it were raked to bring the frame down the trail numbers would most likely be out of whack without a down tube stretch. Loving this thread and all of the tall front chops though. I am gonna start a tall front chopper thread.

I know a guy over at hondachopper, com who did similar, but, he used a very small front wheel , so it barely lifted higher than stock height, very differfent, looked more like a guy who wanted a chopper, but, could not weld, so, he put together what he could with what he had, i believe he used one of those moped front wheels, surprisingly, it held up just fine with all that cb 750 weight upon it and that set of springer forks that were too long but, it really evened out, he even left the two extra tubes that run parallel with the seat, and would hold up the gas tank as well, I mean he really wanted a chopper bad!! and it still had the back shocks on!! crazy stuff

Dumb question, but when you put longer forks on can you use the same fork springs? Just asking because I saw mikes xs sells 2 and 6 over forks but only one size spring.

Yes same springs, the spacers just get longer

Should start adding some specs into this thread, like If you post your own bike up let us know what the setup is... Like if you used dirtbike forks, or just extended tubes etc.

Im currently on the hunt for a longer front end for my xs and Im thinking about a 70's Honda xl250 fork. The tubes are the same diameter as the stockers so they slip right in, but I want to use the 21" front rim off the xl so I need the narrower xl trees too.. Just want to see if anyone has any experience.

Or it can just be a porn thread too hahaha

This ia the best I could get for now.
I'm still waiting on spacers and the axle nuts.
Wheel os just in place to roll it and yes it's on backwards

So not much specs to give on this. Stock rake. 21" ts185 wheel with 80/90-21 metzeler rubber.
6" over springer. I'm not 100% on these rockers. I may look at getting a new set that will put the axle above the rear leg mounting bolts.

so unfortunately with my new rockers my chop isn't really that tall fronted anymore, and the trail seems almost too little since the legs of this springer are in direct line with the neck no rake in the trees.

I'm gonna try flippin the rockers back and get some numbers.

I really like the lines of that bike and I’m trying to decide what dimensions I want for my next xs650 frame would you mind telling me the stretch, drop and rake on that frame?
