2001 Buell forks on a Shovel Chopper build

I'm building a 98" Shovel bobber and trying to use these 2001 Buell forks - was planning on cutting/slugging them to lower about two inches... I think it is going to look tough as shit and ride pretty well after all is said and done.

    Any ideas on the following:

    1. Can you run these as dual front brakes? I bought it with just the one caliper and master cylinder, but the lower fork legs look like it would run/support duals?

    2. Anyone know the size (mm) so I can rebuild them properly, etc..

    thanks all,
    cs

Buell used to offer up the extra caliper and disc as an add on option. Good luck finding one though, hard to come by and if you do it's gonna cost you. Or you can get a set of Totiko's and make adapters, but I assure you the 6 piston caliper with the 13" rotor will work just fine by itself.

Hold off on lowering them till you get an engine in and see how the moto sits with the wieght of the engine. I see in the pics that the front wheel is off the ground and the forks are extended, and remember the forks will compress under load.

I used only the right side brake and milled the brake mount off of the left leg. Dont lower them yet, I had to cheat the tubes down a little when I was running a 21. They are now cheated up a little bit with the 23. (stock geometry paugho frame)

and.... Not sure what front end you are replacing, but the axle is not the same as the original 35mm narrowglide. Plan on a custom axle, or at least a wheel bearing swap.

              dual discs

If you want to run dual brakes on the front, you want to make sure your master cylinder has a 11/16" bore on it.

Yup. I'm running a stock HD 11/16" master on the GSXR front and brake feel is perfect. Better than the stock GSXR master.
