Default How To: Make a simple fork holder

I wanted to check out my forks (1999 Buell/Showa) this winter so I opened up my trusty maintenance manual. It referenced a fork holder tool but there was no way I was buying one. Used my Google box and found a few people that had made their own. I copied a very simple design.

    1. Take old wood vise that's collecting dust
    2. Cut some angle steel

    3. Drill holes and bolt angle to wood vise
    4. Measure forks and cut notches in wood vise
    5. Glue/tape some non-slip stuff in the notches

    6. Put the finished fork holder in vise. Put your fork in the holder and work on your forks!

The money I "saved" I put towards this $30 a bottle stuff:

I thought you meant one of these for holders. I have two.
