I had mixed thoughts on your front end. The fabricator side of my head was and remains truly awed by your skill. The artistic side was disappointed with the design of your front end. It just looked too "steam punk" and not "chopper." That is until you posted that pick of the rolling frame mock up. For some reason, when you put it together it just worked. It truly is functional art. Most excellent build sir. Outstanding!Comment

Also, design-wise I really think that second neck casting looks MUCH better than the first. A good iteration, especially losing the visual mass on the lower half and smoothing it out (to my eye).
Can you run through your oil routing scheme? I am trying to make it out in the pics and I *think* i can follow along, but not quite... Is there routing/chambering built into the castings?Comment

I didn't have a die big enough to put an 8" CLR radius bend on some 3/4 X .120 wall 316. I even called pro tools and the biggest die they can make is 7" CLR. The first person to quote this sentence and include your paypal address I’ll send 5 dollars to because I don’t think anyone actually reads it.Comment

You are way too modest with a skill set like that. You are an artist as much as a craftsmen. The Born Free Show should be begging you to show off this beautiful machine.Comment

So I ran into some issues. About 1.5 years ago I purchased a knucklehead cad model to use for this project. It was from a reputable cad modeler. The cad model of the motor mount area doesn't match the motor exactly. I don't know if the cad model is off or if the the motor has been fucked with, but either way there are some issues.
I think the cad model was drawn to panhead cases. I should have checked this and I'm kicking myself for not catching it beforehand. In the overall scheme of things it's not a big deal, but I will have to rework the rear motor pad on the frame a bit. Fortunately all this will be covered by the motor, so unless the motor is out the rework will be unseen.
In general, it fits though:
In the meantime, I made a rear axle: (also pictured is a front axle I made for my 53)
Hoping to have a fully welded rolling frame in the semi-near future.Comment
