Rear fender from a Gilroy Indian Chief ...
They was known to hairline crack at the mount ...

This was one that got replaced under warranty, I been hanging on to it for building a radical custom someday ...

Here's a photo (1999) of me on one of the first 50 that came from Gilroy ...

ETA: Funny experience... I was interviewing for a maintenance tech job back in '93, and the interviewer asked if I had any mechanical experience. "Well," I said, "My only source of transportation is a 52 International and a shovelhead".
When the IHC broke, it was usually about a week down (depending on the problem) since you had to either build or repair whatever part you were needing. Can't just go buy that shit. Oh, and I did get the job.

How much for a polished Rivera kicker added to the pile (no arm or pedal)?

It looks agreeably narrow. The stainless kicker shaft is a nice cosmetic touch. Is that set screw on the left side of the outer cover next to the speed sensor hole an oil level plug or does it retain internals?

That would be terrific on a cholo style Softail. My respect for their quality work but I've no desire for anything that interferes with rapid rear wheel swapouts and this scoot will tend light and narrow. I'm thinking round stainless fender strut, ribbed fender and perhaps an 18" wheel.

The Rivera unit has been taken off their product line ...

Sure would be nice to have it when the battery takes a shit, but how often does that happen ??

Not often to me but dat's why I wanted the large battery capacity that oil bag offers. (Even when my Shovels were kick-only I went with stock batteries because I love me some ampacity).

I'm also curious what ball and ramp it uses since if it takes stock it takes other versions of stock like HD reduced effort ramps (spotfaced for the larger Baker throwout bearing instead of that dime-sized stock turd). Only the bearing side plate needs machining.

I used to have the McMaster-Carr number for the larger wafer bearing but can't find it at the moment and my Baker wafers are installed so not convenient to measure.

Are the Ultimas available plain? I find the chrome too flashy in that location and with a plain one I might could ball mill some horizontal grooves on the outside flat surface to break up the plain real estate and blast or peen all the major gearbox castings to match then Sharkide them so they don't get furry.

Was taking a hard look at the above kit that was ordered from Summit ..
Told the salesperson what I was wanting to do and he said this kit will meet my needs ...

Since I had the box open the other day to take a photo for the above post, got to see what I bought ...
It is a popper kit ... Push a button and the doors pops open ...
What I wanted was a Keyless door lock & unlock kit ...

Called the manufacture and had a Pow-Wow with a tech about the kit Summit sold me ..
He said that I was right about it not being able to do the job that I was after ..
Gave me a number of a kit that would meet my needs ..

Called Summit and asked if I could trade the wrong kit for the right kit ..
They sent me a shipping label to return it back to them and they would send out the right one ..
Good company to deal with but for their "Gun-ho" salespeople !! ...

So if I'm looking at this right the kicker spins the nut on the tranny's main shaft? If used often does that tighten the hell out of it? I ask because I want a kicker on my bike. Can the threads strip if the engine kicks back on you? And if used often will it make it harder to service the tranny later?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but all my experience is on Japanese bikes and American bikes are totally different.
