northeasteric made a post in this thread: 62 xlch drum brake issues... All or nothingLoosen up your axle nut and anchor bolt on the backing plate, then full depress the brake pedal and tourqe both to spec while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
this aligns the shoes inside the drum, granted you had not done this already.
