after reincarnation, then what. everythings beginnings, so feeble and another new unknown. these two parts go together, but how. i wrote of a subconscious tonight. the state of flight before touchdown. you know, when you slam so hard, you bounce once or twice. the head. a new piece of the puzzle. stricken with disease that pushes one to forget words, spelling, time... rosa is killing it, he said. sharon the alliance is here, updating the world thru silent taps on a far away keyboard. those fucks on npr said "grabbing at straws". id like to see their lives dangling from a thread, a single slip away from losing it, losing it all together. a mad dash to cut their knotted and tarnished rope. set sail. see where they then stand, proud? or just hunched.

the road opens tomorrow. another trip to another country. another city. another taxi. ive got my ed abbey book, untouched and on top of my bag. packed light, is there any other way. puts that statement to read. packed. period. it doesnt matter where youre going or for how long. if you cant fit what youre taking into one backpack, youre on some other planet, waiting in baggage claim, still. forever still.

lifes going. like the dinosaur, like it or not. ive never seen so much as in these last handful of years. i owe so much to so many. motivationally, inspirationally, phoenitically. the phone call and a crash. left and leaving. gordo, hello?

mentally unprepared when someone mentioned this band the other day. someone in the know, but far from what i called home. feverish, ive devoured lyrics, hours, miles, and sbb shows in basements of houses i lived in. an integral part of my late late teens as i branched out over the country side with skateboard in hand. like the first time i heard these lyrics, today, shivering with nostalgia, i thought of a home so far off and distant, friends i havent (and should have) kept up with, music i left/lost along the way. lansing michigan was never too far north, at the intersection of 69 and 94. fort wayne and friends, you are missed.

buena vista pool. this is the first pool i ever skated. i rode out there in the jump seat of jason strubbings old pick up truck with him and his brother justin after work one day. i had no idea what i was doing when i got there. matt ballard said i couldnt leave until i grinded it, so i did. a photo from the session ended up being used for a skateworks/ben davis ad in the old mag creature lee and davoud used to run called concussion. this is now the last pool i skated and will most likely keep it that way, forever. full circle, 100%

i drive a lot for work. i finished up in pismo beach at about 930am this friday morning with nothing to do but end up in l.a. by tomorrow around 2pm. looking at my schedule, i decided to drive off into the remaining sunrise. easterward towards the oilfields that surround bakersfield california. the sun was bright and the clouds contrasty. i climbed a bluff atop a run away truck stop for a quick view, brake check, and piss stop. two rusty barb wire fences crossed, one old rusty nail found. the 1900s.
