vegan again.

im sure all or most of you that look at this, have an iphone and or instagram by now.. so maybe this isnt new news to anyone. but its a marker in this ribbon of time we call life.

two weeks ago, i started back up being vegan... not strict, but i have been watching what im eating more regularly... its been pretty insane... and heres some sort of back story incase you dont have instagram...

5 years ago, i was handed this playing card that read. game over.. youre done.. figure some new shit out and while youre at it... fuck off. so i jumed thru hoops, put pegs in little holes and counted how many times i inhale per minute for 5 years, almost all literally. and whats been thought of until recently as "working" has helped, but it hasnt promoted any sort of health gains.

i watched one of the million food documentaries called forks over knives and it hit me that i hadnt reall given being vegan again (i was for 3 years between 01 and 04). until two weeks ago. next day i bought a bunch of veggies, fruits, etc... and went for it. 4/5 days later i noticed some feeling back in my hand, few days later, i noticed a little less fatigue, and today, i thought, fuck it, ill try some kickflips again, see what happens...

i havent been able to run, jump, or really any activities in 5 years... 5 years of taking their daily injections, weekly injections, and then monthly injections... nothing has changed the pace of that life... until now.

after all that time of not being able to skate due to fatigue, blanace, and numb feet... i landed a 3 flip with in about 10 tries... id just like to verbalize a huge fuck you the the big pharma companies, fda, and our bullshit government that keeps people sick and has absolutley no intention of making the world a better place.

there i said it...

Me and my wife watched forks over knives a month and a half ago. Since then I haven't eaten any meat or dairy. I feel great and have tons of energy. I don't miss meat or dairy at all. That shit makes me sick when I look at it now. We Also bought the engine 2 diet book after we watched that documentary. Glad to hear its making you be able to skate again.

I hear ya....I went vegan 2-1/2 weeks ago and I love it! our food system is an absolute mess....especially the meat industry. another good documentary on itunes is "vegucated".....there's a part in the middle showing how the animals are treated will make most people go vegan alone. my energy levels are way up, I focus easily now, and my attitude has improved drastically....probably from not ingesting all the damn chemicals in the meats and dairy. anyways....glad to hear you're doing better!

Today's Meat is not what it once was. Profits come before health usually, & the result is meat loaded with pesticide residue, bacteria, antibiotics, pathogens, some are deadly like mad cow, basically It's a crap shoot & I avoid it! I do love my eggs though, but that's not really a meat, Is it?
Milk is nasty as well unless you can get some fresh raw milk from an organic farmer that raises cows on green pastures.

Didn't expect to read this here, but thanks!
I'm vegan. Have been for about 12yrs and vegetarian before that. I have owned two successful vegan restaurants (now sold but they're still very much alive) and I advocate the organic vegan diet to most people if I'm asked about it (not militant vegan.)

Our grandparents meat and vegetables were not pumped full of hormones, pesticides or GMO. As someone mentioned above, profit is put above quality of product and more importantly human health. I wish it wasn't the case, but you will probably develop various illnesses or have complications from eating conventional meats and vegetables. At the end of the day it's up to each of us to decide what we put into our bodies. Just feels criminal to sometimes to stand by and watch someone "drink the kool-aid".

Thanks for putting yourself out there like that about an unpopular subject, particularly in this crowd.
