Fixing Flat Track: The Michael Lock Interview

Sideburn’s editor, Gary Inman, interviewed Michael Lock, the CEO of American Flat Track, about his plans for fixing pro flat track. The interview lasted nearly 90 minutes, and was way too long to fit in Sideburn 27, but what was left over was too good to leave on the shelf, so we decided to publish the full thing on our new website - www.sideburnmagazine.com. It will be of interest to anyone with a love of, or investment in, flat track.

There is the opportunity to leave a comment below. We're looking forward to hearing what you think.

Win a "Fuck Luck" Print

If you follow ChopCult on Instagram you'll remember seeing this great piece of art in our feed. It was hand drawn by 33 member Richy Hurle. Richy lives in the South West of England, he's a tattooist and doodler by day and builds bikes and cars by night. He currently rides a '03 sporty and a '80 Ducati Pantah and is building a 62 Chevy Bel Air. He always drawing, like this is a freehand piece, no digital work, "because I don't know how, and think it's cheating." So why am I sharing this information? Because Richy has offered one lucky member and one lucky follower the chance to win this custom print. Just enter "Richy rules" in this thread for the chance to win and look for this image on Instagram for your second chance. We'll announce the winners on December 13, 2016, best of luck! Big thanks to Richy for his kind donation!

Don Galloway Is Faster Than You*

I met Canadian Don Galloway when I was banging bars with him at Santa Rosa while we were racing Roland Sands' Indian Scout Superhooligans.

Dan was also racing his neat 'little' Panther Honda (not this one, another one...). I'd noticed him the night before kicking everyone's ass. I was so impressed and intrigued by his bike I had Preston Burroughs shoot it there and then for Sideburn 27.

Not too long after that race, Don competed in Florida and Georgia (he lives in Canada, remember) and cleared up. Read about him and his giant-killing, big-bore Honda XL350 in Sideburn 27.
This is what happens when another rider's foot peg gets in your front spokes.
The amount of fuel an XL480 consumes in 4 laps of a 1/2 mile.

Frame Jig Kit from Chop Source

The Chop Source Frame Jig Kit includes all of the fixtures and hardware you need to get your table-top frame jig started.

You just supply the 2"x2" or 2"x3" tubing. The frame jig kit bolts together so you can easily reconfigure the jig or break it down to store or move. Save time and maximize precision with our CNC laser cut parts that now come powdercoated black for the same great price.

Get your frame jig off the table or bench and make it rotate for easier welding with the Chop Source Frame Jig Rotisserie Stand.

The brackets lock in 16 positions and can be moved along their uprights to balance the jig and frame. You supply the 2"x2" or 2"x3" tubing. Just like the main part of the jig, the stand bolts together so you can easily break it down to store or move.

BEST OF 2016 ~ Kit's Kulture Ride No.2

BEST OF 2016 posts are in no specific order, but I'll be showcasing a variety of rides and grassroots events throughout 2016 during the month of December...

Back in February Kit took us on a Kulture Ride to The Galpin Motors Museum in North Hills, CA. It's a FREE museum if you're interested in classic cars the works from Ed Big Daddy Roth, Von Dutch, and many others! Of course I can only tease the cars here because honestly, it would take a dozen of posts to show them all (and you can see those posts if you travel back into my timeline to MARCH of 2016)
