Make plans now, Labor day weekend Aug 31st- Sept 2nd will be our annual Hugaroot BBQ. We have some food Friday night but Saturday is the big day and BBQ, camping is welcome, sleep wherever you find space, plenty of beer, plenty of food, everybody is welcome. If you wake up Sunday and feel hungover thats fine cause we will have breakfast and we always go for a nice hangover ride.

These will be waiting for us on the hangover ride.

Al Knapp passed away today at 90 years old. AL raced Harley-Davidson motorcycles for over 50 years. He was instrumental in the development of Harley racing bikes and in his senior years raced a WR on the AHRMA circuit. Al was a man a few words and was known to go very fast. We will miss you dearly Al. Thanks to WTTM for the picture and words.

To me, the purist form of custom bike building is chopping. It all started there. Guys got stock bikes and an hack saw and went to town. Most people, including my self in the early days, didn't have the tools or means to make scratch frames or tanks, so we used our creativity, and elbow grease to make the stock bike our own. Don't get me wrong, I love making things from scratch, but sometimes just slightly tweaking something to make it your own can be just as rewarding and well, just as much work, if not more work.
