A new date for the Greasy Dozen Builder Collective submissions

"We went through the entries so far, and there are over 50 chopper entries, cafe racers and tracker/hooligan bikes are lacking submissions. Let's get those cafes, tracker/hooligan entries up!! The Greasy Dozen Builder Collective is back! Who's ready?! Do you have a build that's been collecting dust? It's time to dust that bad boy off and get it back on the road. What better way to do it than by throwing your hat in the ring for a chance to be a Greasy Dozen Builder and receive support from our rad sponsors!

First off everyone always wants to know what they will get or how the winner is chosen. So let's clarify a few things it's not a competition all 12 selected builders get support via gift cards. So there are technically 12 winners.

Who can win? We focus on garage builders and small shops with two employees or less. This year we are specifically looking for stalled projects that need that final push of motivation and some parts provided via gift cards from by our generous sponsors. We want to help people finish builds where life got in the way. You will have about five months to complete your build in time to attend the run. (Details to come about the run)

What you win is gift cards from a long list of great companies that have supported the #greasydozenbuildercollective to name a few @biltwell, @lowbrowcustoms, @ledsledcustoms, @indianlarrymotorcycles, @chopcult, and @sscycle. Since year two we have used gift cards because it's much easier logistically for the winners to pick exactly what they want from the sponsors and it's in tune with the idea that the Greasy Dozen Builder Collective has always been about giving something directly back to the average joe that supports these companies. We have given away over $30,000 in prizes this way and while its work to put it on its a labor of love to give something back to the motorcycle community."- Old Bike Barn

There are three categories: Chopper, Cafe Racer, Hooligan

Monkeying around in the snow

After watching Flat Out Friday live streaming last night, I think I was inspired to get outside and ride.  I carved a track in the backyard with my snowthrower, put my studded tire on the Evil Monkey, and had a blast.  My daughter took the riding photos.

Mama Tried 2018 - Part 8

The Mama Tried Motorcycle Show isn't just a bike show, it's a full weekend experience.  When you consider the show itself, Flat Out Friday, a visit to the Harley-Davidson Museum, multiple concerts, and ice riding on Slippery Sunday (weather permitting... and it did not cooperate last year), you really can't ask for more.  I'm bummed I'm missing it this year but I hope everyone that attends has a blast.  The last few years will be hard to beat, but the show seems to get better every year.  Have fun everyone!  I'll leave you with some photos of One (Metallica tribute) and Weedeater at last year's show.

These guys were so good.

Pushin' and shovin' in the pit (Rave security was not amused):

Weedeater was fun to photograph.  The facial expressions are fantastic.

Bottle's empty?  Show's over.

Have fun at Mama Tried this weekend!!!

Something about rodents & motorcycles...

I didn't forget about the concerts... One (Metallica tribute) was awesome and Weedeater was an experience.  Those photos are up next.
