Inside King Kustom Cycles

Bobby "The Leg" Middleton is a Chicago-based bike builder extraordinaire whose experience spans more than a decade and a half of fabrication, restoration, repairs, and customization. He opened the doors to King Kustoms in 2010 and specializes in Harley Davidson motorcycles. King Kustoms offers full bike builds, frame builds/repairs, hard tails, handlebars, sissy bars, vintage springer forks repairs and any one-off parts imaginable. Bobby has produced well over 15 full builds under the King Kustoms moniker, taking home countless awards, recognitions, and accolades from his peers. Most notably, the "White Wizard", a 1946 FL Knucklehead chopper, which was built in conjunction with bike owner and friend, Bobby "Good Times" Hultz, took home the 2013 Showclass Magazine "People's Champ" award and Born Free 5's "Best Knucklehead".

The following year, Bobby Middleton earned a well-deserved invitation to Born Free 6, as a builder, and built a bike around a family-owned 1948 Harley Davidson pan-shovel motor. As a true testament to his craftsmanship, the bike was built as a long hauler, which Bobby rode from Chicago to California. He took home the 2014 Born Free 6 “Best Chopper” award. Further solidifying King Kustom’s reign, Bobby Middleton was again commissioned as a builder for this year's Born Free 7. He is poised to blow minds again by building a digger styled, hot-rodded, supercharged, 1963 XLCH with a shovelhead top-end.

Bobby Middleton is driven by his ability to make a living out of his passion. King Kustoms allows him to travel all over the country and meet great people along the way. He sees himself continuing down his current path, evolving and growing as a fabricator by building more choppers and restoring original Harley Davidson parts. He credits his wife’s love and support for his success and would like to give a shout out to Bravetown and Barebones CC. In addition, he would like to thank Milo for always building the best engines and transmissions and Mike at Rocket Engineering for his amazing machining skills.
