Inside: BCM's Garage (continued)

The bike that launched a thousand internet questions, Kim's SR500 debuted at the Chop Meet in 2008

Maximum Bob's shovel. Kim always wants to tear it down and make it perfect. Bob just wants to get drunk and ride it to a driveway in the middle of nowhere and camp. The two lifelong friends always seem to meet in the middle

Did we mention details? Kim doesn't pretend to be a master builder or professional shop. He's not afraid to take bits to Bob the welder for some dime stacking or run to Pat's shop to borrow machinery or expertise he doesn't possess. He is however finishing a ground-up build for a customer and is open to more work in the future if the project is right.

Someday the pan will be done and it will be an example of perfection. It's hard to blend high-tech and old-school without making something that's neither. Kim splits lanes between the two, and that blend is what makes his motorcycles special.

Kim's a cool dude with a great eye for bikes. The 500 is a great example of what many of us would have passed up,or simply not done nearly the job that Kim did.

i love me some Rolling Rock. Preferably with a lime. That 500 looks like the most fun a guy could have on two wheels.

RE: the SR, it is every bit as fun as it looks however I jumped it about 25' a few weeks ago, the landing it pretty harsh & not so enjoyable.

Great stuff Kim. I'll bring a case down and hang out with you guys some weekend. The SR just looks fun as hell.
What are your plans for it? You selling it? Or just riding the shit out of it?

HaHa, yeah I'm alive. The time off from surgery has put me behind schedule in customer work. My blog has suffered, but will return strong. So many irons in the fire, as they say!
