Owner name, location:
Gentry Dayton, Brooklyn NY
Bike name:
Dirt
Engine, year and make, model, modifications:
1949 very dirty Harley Panhead
Frame:
49 rigid, put back to stock
Fork:
50's front end, I think
Chassis mods:
Blasted the 70's mystery bondo and put it back to stock
Tire/wheel size and style:
I'm running a 16" spoke wheel with drum on the rear. We put a AMF mag wheel on the front for the mock-up and ended up never taking it off. Just added a disc brake and fat tire to it and were in business.
Favorite thing about this bike:
I havnt seen too many Pans with coffin tanks. I thought that could be cool.
Next modification will be:
The only thing this bike needs is more miles on it.
I plan on riding it until it breaks.
Other mods, accessories, cool parts, etc:
Swap meet coffin tank, usual Bates seat and pad.
Any building or riding story or info you'd like to include:
This bike has the usual story, sat in a barn for the past 30 years in GA. She just came back to life this year.
The bike has only been ridden about 10 times before I went on the Gypsy Run, she made the whole run. I was proud.
Thanks to:
I want to thank Keino for always making magic with the baskets and boxes of parts I bring him.
Bike built by Keino Cycles, thank you.
On this year's Gypsy Run a friend asked me if I had a favorite bike. While there was no shortage of classy machinery to lust over, this one crusty panhead kept my attention. I asked the bike's owner if I could shoot it on the last day and he kindly obliged. When Gentry told me Keino built his bike, it all made perfect sense.
