Thor Drake showed us all once again that he has the Midas Touch when it comes to putting on a bitchin’ motorcycle show. He and his crew didn’t miss any details when organizing 2022’s The One Moto Show in Portland, Oregon. Roughly 300 bikes along with artwork, vendors, music, food, and libations filled the 122,000 sq. ft. historic Zidell Barge Yard building. The huge rustic building was stuffed corner to corner with two-wheeled eye candy. The outside area was packed with vendors of all types, along with daily stunt bike shows and demonstrations by the Seattle Cossacks riding team.
Although there were gobs of superb bikes to check out, we came to see the choppers, and The One Moto Show did not disappoint in that category, as year 13 was filled with lots of custom chops. Plenty of killer bikes are getting built these days in the Great Pacific Northwest, and many of them were on display here.
I was lucky enough to show up during the builder unload and set-up, which these days are paramount for getting some good shots of choppers. The One Moto Show sells out pretty quick, and that means thousands of bike fans crowded around the builds, which makes it a bit tough to get pics. But that just means that it’s a big show, and the images alone don’t do it justice.
Speaking of which, The One Moto Show continues to grow and improve, making it one of the top shows in the country. If you haven’t checked it out yet, do yourself a favor by buying a weekend pass next year and heading to Portland. You will see loads of top-notch builds, meet tons of cool people and have one helluva great time!
