Pegs are one of those motorcycle parts that are often overlooked, over-decorated, or both. Being one of the few parts you actually touch while riding makes their design rather important. We've seen some shady set-ups built out of everything imaginable, and seen other guys run without pegs entirely. The coolest thing about the lowly foot rest might be that it's one of the easiest parts to build or modify. Anyone with an afternoon, a grinder and a drill can make a decent set or modify an existing pair. Here's a photo collection from a few events to stir up some inspiration.

(i don't know what they're really called) They can also be used
the same way sportbike sliders are used--crash protection for
the bike.

That said, the vibration isn't so bad that I might not use them again as I've several old spikes out in the shop.
