Mike Schrickel is the owner of Chop Machine based out of Toledo Ohio. Even though he just opened up his first shop less than a year ago, he has over 30+ years’ experience in building and designing motorcycles. I had the pleasure of riding out from Cleveland to take some time and sit down with Mike and his team, Heath Welsh (Painter/Builder) and Brian Thompson (Machinist/Builder). I was honored to be the first to see, ride along side, talk about, and shoot Mike's new shovel build. They have so much talent and a ton of experience under one roof. Chop Machine may be the new guys on the block but expect nothing less than amazing motorcycles to come from Mike and his team!
"We really try to keep that 70's style with all our builds. We've mostly done custom hardtail Sportsters until now. Working a lot with Pat Patterson and the guys from Led Sled Customs using a lot of their parts. We will definitely continue to build the custom Sportsers in the future. All of use at Chop Machine really dig Shovel's so to change things up a bit we went out and picked up a couple. Nothing says 70's like a cool custom Shovelhead. I've always liked the way the engine looks and the sound it makes ripping down the road. This bike started out as a 1975 Harley Davidson FXE. It wasn't in the shop more then a day before we took it completely apart to get it ready for the rebuild and new frame. The bike went together awesome and runs beautiful. This is a quality motorcycle. I am truly happy with this build. This will be a great motorcycle for someone to enjoy for years to come," stated Michael, owner of Chop Machine
