Our appeal to ChopCult readers to provide news, views and photographs for this humble website has garnered some fantastic content. CC members who heeded the call in 2010 include Jason Roche, Mike Deutsch, Walter Gemeinhardt and most recently James Jones, aka Generico. "Jake" is an American chopper freak who lives in Korea, and during a little R&R in the Rising Sun he swung through Mooneyes to shoot some film and give us this field report. Thanks, brother.
Mooneyes bound. I grabbed my old Canon and caught a train, a plane, then a bus. John Candy would be proud. The streets were packed with people, and lights were blinding. I stumbled on a group of folks mad about something. They were letting everyone know, and some other folks got pissed at them. RIOT! Feeling clever I ran in shooting pictures, yelling “Time magazine, Time magazine!”
Next, off to Yokohama. I slept on the subway from Tokyo to the DicE party. Matt and Dean throw a nice shindig, and the Japanese can dance with the best of them. After a few beers and a failed attempt at dancing I headed for the hostel. Two hours of sleep and it was show time.
The parking area at Mooneyes was a show in its own right, and Blotto Mike D. did a great job of covering it on CC last week. Many of the bikes outside could have been parked inside, and the majority of the bikes on the inside showed signs of road wear. All of the bikes were exciting to look at. The show could have been all weekend and I still would have missed something. Enjoy.
